About Led Zap and Ron Wright

Led Zap is a hard rock band from Carmel, California. Guitar-forward, melodic, and rooted in classic rock and blues, the music brings together big riffs and strong hooks.

Guitarist, songwriter, vocalist and producer Ron Wright brings a lifelong interest in recording to the project. Born in Montana and raised in a musical family, he started playing guitar at ten. His recording background includes Acoustic Dreams, which he arranged, produced and engineered, and Ron Wright & Special Guest.

Stone Mountain is Led Zap’s 12-song album, released September 14, 2026 through Big Electric Tec LLC and co-produced by Wright and Ron Nevison. Wright and Matthew Thomson handled the mastering. The album includes Stone Mountain, Star Baby, Shadows of Friends, Baked Beans and eight more songs.

Wright’s approach starts with the song and the instruments that serve it. His collection of vintage guitars and amps, assembled over more than 40 years, helped inspire Stone Mountain. Choosing between a Telecaster, a Gibson Les Paul and a Gibson 335—and combining acoustic and electric instruments—is part of the pleasure he takes in making records.
